KINGSTON, N.Y. ? The city?s 44th Children?s Day Parade was held Friday evening, featuring more than 40 units making their way up Broadway. Many were floats ridden by children in various summer youth programs.

The theme of the parade,? ?Family Movies,? was a nod to the revived ?Movies Under the Stars? program that features free films for families in various city parks throughout the summer.

The parade started in front of Kingston High School, proceeded up Broadway, turned left on Albany Avenue, right on Clinton Avenue and right on Westbrook Lane, ending in the Kingston Plaza parking lot.

The day's events were capped off with a fireworks display over the plaza about 10 p.m.
